However I think you might find this one useful and by the way this wild wood pigeon is still with us, he eats breakfast and dinner with my hens and sleeps in the big bay tree with the other hens who roost there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lh2hcDthgQc I also have another film on feeding a very tiny pigeon it is similar food just ground up into a paste but pigeons do grow very quickly and I find feeding them either through my fingers or if they are very small, with an eggcup method is the best because they have the warm human contact of the hands. I believe this gives them similar contact to the parent bird feeding by the beak. I did have someone write me from a pigeon rescue centre and she told me this is how they feed them too. I give rescue pigeons sprouted grain (organic triticale) and I grind it into a paste with a little soaked homemade organic bread, sunflower and sesame seeds. I also add broccoli, apple and peas if I have them and also a little powdered oyster shell (pigeons love it). The mealworms are interesting as I have seen my own pigeons collecting earthworms, when we had construction going on in front of the house, some years back. A baby pigeon needs a lot of protein to grow the feathers so I do add some hard boiled egg to the mix now and again but it seems like you have the protein covered. Hope this is of use and get back to me and let me know how your pigeon is going. Love that he likes country music!! All the very best, SuePavlovafowlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11578592110340773950noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8210982388002297798.post-9274482057086915472017-07-22T19:08:01.865+02:002017-07-22T19:08:01.865+02:00Hi, my name is Rick. I took him in and he's precious bird. He loves meal worms, protein paste for birds. He's a snuggle bug and he is comfortable in his environment. I plan on raising him until he wants to leave. Or he can stay! What else can I feed him? He's about 15 to 18 days old according to age photos. He's not injured, he loves country music!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17028960244888201426noreply@blogger.com
